Community Rivercare Officer

2-year contract position
Part time 30 hrs/week (0.8FTE)

Location: South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) in Beckenham, Western Australia.

SERCUL is seeking a highly motivated person with experience in WA Natural Resource Management projects especially linked to the development and implementation of waterway restoration projects and community based landcare activities.

The Community Rivercare Officer will work with community groups to develop and implement onground restoration projects in waterways through a community grants process and will also be responsible for the development and implementation of an Iconic project within the Swan Canning Catchment. This position will work in collaboration with staff from the Rivers and Estuaries Branch of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.

The position requires well developed Natural Resource Management skills particularly in waterway restoration, a high level of experience in working and collaborating with community environment groups, local and state government and in writing grant applications. Experience in managing projects, working with contractors and administering and reporting on grants would be highly desirable. The position attracts a salary package including salary in the range of $67,000 – $77,000 (pro rata) per annum, plus superannuation.
